[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
It was great summer. Weather was rather mixed - many days with rain, but also lots of heat and sun. I walked almost daily in Lodz Botanic Garden and took tons of photos. This year was year of Diptera and Hymenoptera. I hunted for many species of wasps, bees, bumble bees, flies, etc. I learnt so much about their diversity and behaviour. As always I was very surprised by biodiversity and different shapes, colours and ways of small living creatures. I published many of my photos and observations on my website about Botanic Garden (botaniklodz.pl) and have no time for anything else :-) Maybe during short and dark days during autumn I'll send more of them on TN.

Today one example of what I photographed this summer - wild bee from Dasypoda genus.

By the way - I took so many photos that I broke my Tokina macro lens :-)

Sounds like you had a great time! I must have a look at the site of Lodz Botanic Garden! This is a very fine macro of a Bee showing fantastic details. Lovely colours too and well composed.

Great to hear that you had a rewarding summer at your treasure of species, the Lodz Botanical garden.
This is a fine capture of this Dasypoda sp of bee, the sharpness and colours showing it well against the yellow flower BG in superb lighting.
