i saw this is lonely dried juniper (may be Temple one) tree at the edge of Sarıkaya precipice while searching wild goats, near the Oluklu plateau (approx. 2000 m asl., Finike, Antalya) during our last excursion to the region. I think it died after being without water since it grown on an inappropriate place, between rocks and I suspect that it will fall over during our windy coming months. It can be thought that I used a polarize filter to create such bold blue sky but I have to admit that I did not use. I captured this scene at focal length of 50 mm of my telephoto lens. Please see also the attached WS taken from another POV.

I am not a mortologist to talking about the death but scientifically the death is not the end, it's just a pit-stop at which you have to change your tires, add some more fuel or may-be completely change the chassis :)

This scene reminds me so much of course! But dead or alive, it is still beautiful as a part of nature!

TFL and Have a nice Sunday!

How sad!
I agree, death has to be a pit-stop, as you say, but then what??
A lovely shot, which also doubles as a landscape shot with the beautiful sky as the BG!
Very well done, my dear Big Bro!

Hi little bro,

a nice landscaping image from this tre death or not death.
Good pov and fine colours.

Hi Bayram,in effect not seem the best place to live, inside the rocks and under a hard sun....maybe was the waterless the solution....the pic is fantastic, this low point of view and these colors are impressives. Thanks for share, have a nice Sunday,LUCIANO

Wow Bayram! I like this old fellow! Great sculptural silhouette, great detail, great composition and very appealing presence. The type of photograph you easily can blend to any interior wall! Have you watch the new movie "The Road"? Seems taken strait from the movie frame!Great, great image in my opinion! Bravo!

Hello Bayram,
Fantastic photo in very beautiful colours. The deep blue colours in the BG are amazing. Great sharpness, POV and composition. The photo in the WS is also a beauty.

The workshop shows clearly this tree had chosen a wrong spot to grow, Prof Bayram. No wonder it has dried up.
Still, I have as much empathy for trees as I have for human beings. This tree too must have seen its heyday and I think back of it with a tinge of sadness.
The blue sky is very blue in this picture against which the dry tree stands like a sculptured work of art.
Thanks and regards.

Dayi super!! olumden beile boyle guzel foto ancak sen cikarirdin.
Bakis acin cok etkileyici. Agacda tam agaci yani:)
Ellerine saglik. Selamlar.

Merhaba Bayram dostum,
A fine capture of a dead juniper tree, its gnarled trunk suggesting that it had reached a great age.
This must still be full of life: insect larvae eating the dead wood, fungi in the damp parts and much life not visible to the naked eye. It is part of a wonderful cycle of life that we hope will continue on this planet for a long time to come!
The technical quality of both this and the WS image is up to your usual high standard with a nice composition against a clear sky.
Another excellent post from you MF and thanks for sharing both these fine images.
Have a great week,

Ciao BBB. This is a superb POV. Impressive DOf and stunning details. Perfect sharp too against the blue SKY

Canim kardesim.. buagac neler gormus neler gecirmistir. Kurumus olsa da yazdigin gibi halen oldugunu soylemek zor.. simdi kim bilir karincalar, kurtlar, fare vesire on bagli yasam suruyordur. Hala hayatin bir parcasi.. ellerine saglik. Mukemmel bir foro olmus..hepimizden selamlar..

I agree totally with your philosophical notion of the trees death. Having lived in the wilderness woods for so long, I have seen my share of tree which appear dead...yet got the feeling that there was still life in them in one form or another. Perhaps I could see auras and was not aware....Good thoughts for pondering...and fine low angle!

Ciao Bayram, fantastic statue by nature, woonderful shoo with excellent clarity, great contrast against beautiful blue sky, very well done my friend, ciao Silvio

Selam my dear friend,
A lovely capture of and of-course a different taste from you. Excellent composition good details and a very good exposure in strong light condition. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Hello Bayram,
Very nice capture. Wonderful natural colours. Excellent contrast with perfect
blue sky. Amazing sharpness and focus.

very nice capture, I know such dead junipers in Israel, they occur usually at alpine belts above tree line. TFS Ori

Merhaba Bayram,
What a great blue sky! This juniper has a very nice shape. Beautiful capture, very sharp. Even this tree is dead, the life will continue with the insects and larvae inside, with the birds (incl. woodpeckers) who will eat them, with the mosses and fungi who will grow on it... It is an important part of the ecosystem. Have a nice week dear,

Merhaba Bayram hocam,

Hi MF Bayram.
Beautiful philosophical post from you in TN. The spotless blue sky without CPL is stunning and the twisted and leafless dead tree is still beautiful in the frame.
Nice artistic image and thanks for sharing.
Kind regards,

Hi Bayram,
very interesting shot! This loner and its blue background. Beautiful. Also amazing sharpness and composition,
