....or male house finch. Common as all get out here in the US. Europe has it own version as well. I caught this one in the grass behind my apartment. He had seen me but was more anxious to get to the food I used as "bait".

The complex we live in disallows for anything hanging from our outside porch so we had to remove our bird feeder. Shame. Since becoming disabled, I have no access in the handicapped apartment to put any foo out where I can take images...so it will be a while before I can get out of my archives... however I have 4 thousand TN type3 images:-)

Hi Bob!

Well, I'm looking forward to seeing the many thousands of TN suitable pictures of your archive!

:-)

Indeed, it's a pity and a shame that you were obliged to remove the bird feeder. I hope that you soon will be able to take pictures out in the nature, and I also hope that you can take comfort from your archives and fine pictures like the one you present us today.

Kind regards

Markus

Best regards

Hi Bob,

Fine capture of this handsome boy. Good choice of shutter speed to freeze the action and your aperture setting yielded sufficient DOF for the handsome to be sharp.
TFS and have a nice week!
Cheers,

Bayram

Hello Bob,

a nice picture from this house finch male.
Good detailed and sharpness with diagonal composition.
Fine colours.

Hi Robert,
Not to be confused with the real "House Finch", which is Carpodacus mexicanus. Actually, our version of the House Sparrow is likely the same genetic stock as the House Sparrow found in England. It is an introduced bird in the U.S.

Hello Bob, a nice shot of this pretty male House Sparrow which shows off his beautiful plumage.
Even though they are considered a common bird they are still very attractive with their black chin beards and grey caps. This little guy looks like he was intent on posing just right for your camera. TFS.

You do dig up some goodies from your archives Bob!
This portrait ofa male House Sparrow has all the signs of a top notch shot. The features are well shown with technical excellence and the contrast with the grass together with fine lighting presents this fine specimen in a pose that is just what the photographer ordered!
Thanks and take care,
Ivan

Hi Bob,

The grass is framing well the bird. The point of view is showing with precision the details and colors of the house finch. The good luminosity is bringing out the colors. Have a nice day.
