hello friends, today i went in the woods to try to
do photos of woodcock and ruffed grouse in-flight,
i was accompanied with my pointing dog Ranger
because it is him with his pointing dog nose
that he will smell and then point indicating me
somewhere there is a bird in the forest floor

2 times i tried photos of woodock in-flight
and the 2 times i missed, it is not easy,
then i did the photo of this woodcock
hided in the in the forest floor

with this post i am also uploading (in the WS)
the 2 photos of Ranger pointing this woodcock

Ranger pointing this woodcock

The same pointing another POV

when i did this photo i also wanted to do a
in-flight shot, was prepared for that, but this
American Woocock did not colaborate with me,
a fraction second after my click it fly up
and i could not do the photo

now if you see in the exifs, my shutter speed it
is at 1/60th second, my bridge camera not having
image stabilizer i had never shoot at that shutter speed
but today before this photo i did clicks with a shutter
speed of 1/1200s 1/1000s and in the woods not
being luminosity my photos where completaly dark

so i decide to leave the camera choose the shutter
speed and i did well i obtained this photo, i personally
would never choose that shutter speeds of 1/60s with
this camera because like i said it has not have IS

the bird of my logo it is also a American woodcock,
it is a photo from 2007, a woodcock pointed
by my first pointing dog Celtick that it is
in the pointing dogs paradise now

Hello Asbed,
A nice shot showing this Woodcock in his natural environment. It is a rarity to see one here in Ohio since they stay so well hidden. I have flushed only a few in all my years afield, but am always excited whenever this happens. Thank you for showing this one sitting very still, because usually you would walk right by without ever knowing it was there.

God Morning MF,

Welcome back! Awesome capture of this hidden beauty showing its camouflage ability well.
TFS and have a nice week!

Hallo Asbed,

Hello Asbed,
I am impressed how Celtick finds these American Woodcock! You would certainly not be able to find one without flushing it.
This is a great capture of one hiding a´mong the vegetation, the eye and most of the back plumage being well seen with nice sharpness and natural colours.
Thanks and kind regards,

Dear Asbed, to be honest here I can not call this image awesome, but definitely I know from an experience when you are not fully prepared technically, with the camera values or inappropriate zoom lens settings the result not always can be fully satisfactory. Well, I hope when your put your hands on the latest dream compact P7000 then those moments can rest in the past. Have a lovely evening my friend!

Hello Asbed,
Nice photo of this Woodcock. Only a dog like Ranger can find this. Difficult to photograph. The result is not fantastic, but good enough to show us. Beautiful camouflaged colours.

Hi Asbed,

A very clear view of this little Woodcock hiding in the bush. Colors and details are excellent and I can see why you needed Ranger's help. It's wonderful seeing him in his natural habitat.

A beautiful shot, Asbed, the bird is camouflaged well and your sighting it is wonderful!
very well done!

Hello Asbed,

Had never seen the WoodCock. Good capture through this thick foliage. Nice eye contact. Very well done!

Bonjour Asbed,

Merci Michel

Environmental shot and good shot at the nature of the bird. It appears he is too scared to find an escape, or there is none that is really clear with exception of the way you are standing...

Hola Asbed.
Una foto de gran calidad. Bellos y naturales colores. El pequeño pajarillo te observa desde donde se posa, y creo que es dificil pode encontrarlos debido a su pequeño tamaño.
Saludos Asbed.

Hello Asbed,
Splendid image of this camouflaged woodcock. Colours, sharpness and composition are all great. Thank you.

Tus apariciones por Tn son cada vez más esporádicas Asbed.
Creo que esta o una similar ya la publicaste alguna vez.
Un abrazo: Josep Ignasi.

The woodcock hides well in its natural habitat, kinda neat with just the one eye peekin' through Asbed :)

Hi asbed,
lovely surrounding that being used for camouflaging. you did very well by going very near and capture it.
must be very slow and quiet work.
so patient in capturing this.

Hi Asbed
Very difficult shot - well presented as well as the other images.
