In autumn, many moth species show real autumn colours and by their appearance look like autumn leafs. This is also true for many species of the genus Ennomos. This picture shows a female of
- Ennomos fuscantaria
- family: Geometridae


The species is mostly found as single specimens. It is rarely encountered in the Ruhrgebiet where I live.

Hello Peter,
a very simle composition but it gives a special graphical effect. the branch makes this shot special and the colours are uniform.
the details of the moth is splendid, with hairs around the body well seen.

eine tolle Ueberraschung, der prächtige Zackenrandspinner. Ich wäre nie auf die Familie Geometridae gekommen, aber offensichtlich hat die Art die Geometriden- typische Tympanalgrube! Wir dürfen von Dir noch viele Naturwunder auf TN erwarten, schliesslich ist der Ruhrpott erstaunlich grün...
