From the backyard:

The Meadow brown (Lepidoptera; Satyridae; Maniola jurtina L.; Grosses Ochsenauge; le Myrtil) is one of the well known butterfly sights from North Africa and all of Europe right through to Siberia. The female is characterized by the orange field around the big eye.

The Meadow brown has already been posted on TN by colleagues from 19 different European countries and Turkey, I add now Switzerland to the list of countries: forgive me the rehash. The Meadow brown is reproducing in my unkempt backyard together with six other butterfly species since many years.

Underneath the flower you notice a Conopid fly being eaten by a Crab spider.
