This is a Gray Jay, also known as a Whiskey Jack. You captured him nicely sitting in the tree.

I have only rarely seen any of these and that was back in the US northeast near the Canadian border. So consider it a nice unique shot coming from your locale.

I agree with Janice Mike. A very nice capture of this Gray Jay (Whiskey Jack). These guys go up to 14" and I've seen them fly with their wings hitting each other as they go. It reminded me of the way an owl might fly. A very unusual pattern to flapping. TFS Trevor
