Peruvian Amazon poison dart frog on excursion to "Frog Valley" near Tahuayo Lodge (south side of Amazon River). Taken hand held. It was found under leaf litter on the ground..the guide just put it up on this palm frond for photography. This is Ranitomeya flavovittata. "This interesting frogs is the sister species to R. vanzolini, which is distributed several hundred kilometers to the south. Flavovittata as far as is currently known is distributed sporadically in lowland forest in the vicinities of the quebradas Tamshiyacu and Tauhuayo. Though it does occupy a relatively small range, much of it falls within the Reserva Communal Tamshiyacu Tauhuayo, thus affording it some degree of protection. " Credit: Understory Enterprises, Inc.

R. uakarii was also found on the same excursion (not by my group but I saw the photo!)
