Heavens!... Ivan (argus) never ceases to amaze me! ... Ivan again found the ID of this butterfly, and we must take into account that in the web are very little information about this! THANKS again Ivan Friend!

I spent considerable time finding the ID of the butterflies I found in my recent walk into the mountains. But I could not with this! ... I can't find the ID of this butterfly! .. But also I want you know it in TN!

The photo was taken close to 1600 meters above sea level, in the open, full of scrub with some flowers (these "uncomfortable" flowers, always difficult to expose). I had to decide whether over expose the flowers or have a butterfly or too dark! ... I chose the first! ;)

Thanks by stop and visit!

Hola Jesús,
Another fine capture from your mountain paradise!
I think this butterfly is an Ithomiid species, possibly Hypothyris antea atagalpa.
The exposure of the butterfly is just right, though resulting in OE of the flowers where it is feeding. The sharpness and DOF are superb!
Well done MF,
Thanks and kind regards,

Hello Jesus,
a very good capture of the butterfly from an ideal POV showing well the markings of the underside wings, fine detail and beautiful colours, a very nice composition.Best regards Siggi

Hi Jesus,
A nice capture of this beautiful nymphalide sp. Good sharp details and a nice composition. Yes the flower is a bit over exposed but you can't do anything about it with a point & shoot or bridge camera. Thanks a lot for sharing.

hello Jesus
lovely shot very good macro
i like the colour very much

thank you for sharing.
Best Regards, Murat

Its a challenge, isn't it friend Jesus! To chose between underexposing the dark butterfly or overexposing the bright white flowers!?! And certainly the main subject which is the butterfly seems correctly exposed. Just look at this gorgeous black colors! Amazing, isn't it? If you forgive me I try to adjust the overexposed flower a bit and i think the result is controversial mixed. once the highlights are gone.... they are gone forever!

Bonjour Jesus,
This is a fine and most gracile butterfly with a very special black-white coloration which you show in this beautiful shot. Perfect focus on the wings, light-management was difficult because of the concurrence of the white flower, good idea to have put the accent on the butterfly. We are so lucky to have people like Ivan to help us out with ID.
Have a nice weekend
