Hi Everyone,
This image is particular for Asbed who has always said we should pull back and show some of the animals environment. How's that for a view Asbed, standing looking at a young coyote with the Rockies Mountains in the background. This youngster was on the verge of leaving his siblings behind and striking out on his own. We had so much fun watching a den of six pups play, eat, sleep, play, sleep, eat and fight. It felt strange when we went back later in the year and they had all moved on. This image was taken in Waterton Lakes National Park. If you would like to see a short video of the den of pups she had the year before cut and paste this link to see what I mean about fun.

hello Rick

you did my day ce soir, merci beaucoup
beaucoup Rick for this photo, isn't it
much beautiful photo like this one Rick ?
well yes for me photos like this one are much
more beautiful than photos of closer shots

WOW Rick ! what a beautiful photo with that
superb POV you choosed and the wide angle
framing with showing us of the environment
of this wonderful young coyote, i love to see
the Rockies Mountains in the background,
it show us the freedom that has this
young coyote on that beautiful landscape

very beautiful light coming from the sun,
you choosed a superb POV and the wide
angle framing to show us the environment
of this young coyote, to show us where
he leaves, excellent focus sharpness
and details of all the foreground

i would love one day Rick to view coyotes,
wolfs, bears and do photos like you do,
merci encore you put sun on my day
tu as mis du soleil dans ma journée,

p.s. i forgot to tell i also loved
very much the video on the coyote puppies

I think you use the environment many times but perhaps as not in such a grand way as this. Certainly it is the environs which sustain the creatures and hence is a very big part of the story. All of you points of fact/opinion have been wisely said as of late. Hang tough my friend...as your friend here and the one who sensed smell of dogs yesterday, those things make the tiny fox look even smaller. Pu in perspective...think of how small we are, yet we are not alone.

Hi Rick, this is such a fine and jaw dropping image with the wee fox and the Rockies as a backdrop. The colour is rich and natural. The pov could hardly be better which gives a sense of scale. My only "crit" is this image can't be shown full size, however if it were-I think it would be stolen often.A fine photo of high caliber and one I'm happy you shared with us.Keep 'em coming!

Hello Rick,
this is such an outstanding shot. It makes me think of the film "Dancing with the wolves" - Kevin Costner!
Very truly environmental shot- the big mountain and the tiny coyote.
Very beautiful effect by the light and the legend goes for the wilderness got to be in the earth.
I like this shot as going to mountain to see is something that wont happen to me here.

Hello Rick.
This is just an amazing capture under the golden light.
Such a perfect pose against the muted mountain backdrop.
Well seen and framed image and thanks for sharing.
Kind regards - Jusni

Congratulations on your 600th post my dear friend Rick.

This young coyote gazing out across the hill top is a perfect example of many of your images you've shared here on TN.

Hello Rick,
A very nice photo combining the animal with the landscape, nicely composed, sharp and colourful.
Best wishes,

A very good balance and ample background to this picture Rick. I also like the way the wild grasses in the foreground divvy it up. A nice shot. Trevor

Amazingly beautiful nature capture my friend! Really magnificent in all around!
By the way, i noticed that this is also your 600th posting on TN! I also congratulate you with this milestone!
Thanks for all sharings with us my friend!
Have a nice day!

Bonjour Rick,
Agréable publication valorisant bien le sujet, mais un cadrage plus serré aurait peut-être permis, selon moi, d'apprécier davantage la finesse des détails.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.

Hello rick,

so this animal stand very well posed for you in the sunlight.
Ans indeed much space in his habitat.
Exellent composition and blurred bg.
Fine warm colors.
