This small bird is Willow tit, very difficult to differ from the Marsh tit especially in winter time-
But this picture is taken far north where the Marsh tits are rare.
It’s a small active bird around 11 cm long and with a wing span of 6-7 cm.
The Willow mostly stay the winter even very cold winters.

From Wikipedia,
The Willow Tit (Poecile montanus) is a passerine bird in the tit family Paridae. It is a widespread and common resident breeder throughout temperate and subarctic Europe and northern Asia. It is more of a conifer specialist than the closely related Marsh Tit, which explains it breeding much further north. It is resident, and most birds do not migrate. In the east of its range it is much paler than Marsh Tit, but as one goes west the various races become increasingly similar, so much so that it was not recognised as a breeding bird in Great Britain until the end of the 19th century, despite being widespread.
The Willow Tit is distinguished from the Marsh Tit by a sooty brown instead of a glossy blue black cap; the general colour is otherwise similar, though the under parts are more buff and the flanks distinctly more rufous; the pale buff edgings to the secondaries form a light patch on the closed wing. The feathers of the crown and the black bib under the bill are longer, but this is not an easily noticed character.

Hi Gert,
Excellent picture of this Willow Tit. Details are very fine and sharp. You have managed to capture the bird in very good lively position. Natural colours, good framing and soft nice background.
Thanks for sharing.

The long tail saved you from centering too much. A stroke of luck? No. You know how to do it. This is another bird which reminds me slightly of a chick a dee. I think it is the bi
Lack band in head. OOF B'drop is fine, but you knew that as well.

Hi Gert

It's been a while MF. How are you? Hope those wrists are holding up to the cold and the
weight of your equipment. What a pleasure to once more feast my eyes on a typical and
perfect Ellström image. Looking at this image I once again realise that there is nothing to
teach a maestro. The only thing one can do is to look and appreciate. You know me, I will
not say so if it is not so. Therefore I can say so, because I know it is so, and nobody else
can say it's not so. Isn't it so (chuckle)? I just love the crispness of the details, the perfect
harmony in the composition, the visually pleasing colour spectrum, the perfectly isolated
Willow Tit, and the touch of love that is an unmistaken stamp of the Ellström magic.

Well done MF and TFS.
Take care and have a great weekend.
Regards
Loot

Footnote:
During this time of year the commercialised words "Peace & Goodwill" always gets blown
out or proclaimed in a superfluous plethora of advertisements, catalogues and billboards
by the mass media, radio and TV. Wherever one looks or listens you get blasted with
this notion, but spare a moment in your thoughts and prayers to the ill-fated realities of
those less fortunate. Those that are living in war torn countries, those whose lives were
disrupted by natural catastrophes, those that do not have enough food on the table,
those who are removed from friends and family, those who do not have the privilege of
love and laughter in their lives.

FAITH makes all things possible
LOVE makes all things BEAUTIFUL,
It is my whish that you will have all three of these in abundance for this Christmas.
MERRY CHRISTMAS and a wonderful New Year!

Hi Gert

Chris

Bonjour Gert,
Trčs belle publication valorisant bien le sujet par l'appréciation de la finesse des détails et la délicatesse des couleurs.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Gérard

Hi Gert,
Your "Willow Tit" is very similar to the Black-capped Chickadee here where I live.
Fine details and excellent exposure/color. Great BG too Gert.
Merry Christmas from the Great state of Texas! :)

Hi Gert.
Only this autumn I have seen this species near my countryside house. I did not know that these bird widespread here. One day I tried to shoot them but I could not get any good picture. Shooting condition were pore enough, I used new 2.0x converter. It did not promote quality of pictures. However, I watch your picture with great pleasure and hope that sometimes I may be could take something similar. I also used Canon 7D of my friends few days. It is very good.

At shot I like superb exposure and reproduction of all even tinies details of the charming birdy and dry piece of wood. BG is amazing too. Well done and TFS.
Alexei.
