[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A wood ant is going their mound after successful hunting, this ant carrying a dead spider.
Ants are in the genus of Formica. It is the type genus of the family Formicidae and the subfamily Formicinae, and in turn Formica's own type species is the European red wood ant Formica rufa. Common names for this group are wood ant, mound ant, and field ant. Many of the better known forest species have common names that include the words "wood ant". As the name wood ant implies, many Formica species live in wooded areas where there exists no shortage of material with which they can thatch their mounds.

Hello Samiran,
Special photo of this ant with prey taken in beautiful light and contrasting colours. Excellent sharpness and a very good composition.

Marvellous shot! Great light... this is a low light shot, and getting such clarity in low light is really an effort. I see you have used a flash. What kind of flash did you use? Was it a slave flash setup remotely or mounted on top of the camera?

Hi Samiran.
This is a very interesting photo of the return from hunting :). It's an unusual photo here - so thanks for sharing. Quite good sharpness of such a small ant. Good composition.
Well done,
Maciek
