[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A Giant Kingfisher (Megaceryle maxima) sitting on a dead branch over the Sambezi river in Chobe Nationalpark and eating a fish. This is the largest kingfisher of the south african region and unmistakable with his grey and braun colours and the long heavy bill.
Breeding is from August to January, 35 eggs being laid in a riverbank tunnel. This large species feeds on crabs, fish, and frogs, caught in the typical kingfisher way by a dive from a perch

Hello Pierre,
Take away the lens flare and you will have a very good photo with the activity of the bird. Will do a workshop for you if you do not mind.
Best wishes.

hi pierre
obviuosly very difficult light conditions and still great result
maybe you van add a catchlight by ps (oooops don't tell anybody about this digital manipulation)

Lovely capture with good clarity, perfect depth of field and brilliant colors. The bokeh in the background is breathtaking. I love the simplicity in this image Pierre, no complications just pure delightful simplicity. Bravo!

Something about the way the light is shimmering off the water and the fish in the birds mouth that give this image life of sell and feel as though I am there in reality instead of laying in bed with an iPad:-
