[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The only kingfisher in most of North America this male Belted Kingfisher is distinguished from the female by the rusty belly and flanks. This fellow was part of a flock of 6 all fishing a small stretch of water along the river.

I took this from a blind about 5m away from this branch. Used 70-200mm f2.8 with 2xTC and telephoto. It has been cropped slightly, and USM. Maybe should have used a flash but I only have the on camera flash and its not very strong.

Hi Chris, you've managed to just get the bird in between the twigs. He's nice and sharp - his feathers sjow so well. Good colours and details. Well done. An unusual kingfisher - good job!

Hello Cris, beautifull picture of this kingfisher, good details, maybe the little vertical branch in the front/left is a little bit disturbing.

Well done!

Merci Chris de nous faire découvrir une espèce de Martin-Pêcheur que pour ma part je ne connaissais pas. Ta photo est tout dans le détail et cela est vraiment intéressant pour qui découvre pour la première fois, comme moi, cet oiseau.

Thank you.

Ridfa

Hi Chris,

A beautiful capture and well done on the composition and details.
A natural nature shot. Perfect. If you would have used the flash, the image would have been harsh.
Your lighting is just right showing the "True" colors of this very difficult bird to capture.

My compliments.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
