This is a landscape shot of the old pond make possible by the confluence of three or four creeks, I forget. I took many images here of aviaries and mammals. Caught with a 85mm lens and none other and no time to change....what critter do you see eating a fresh water trout? Can you tell? I know!

Hi Bob,
what kind of animal is it on the right corner of Your photo? Very nice winter landscape. I'm sure, there are a lot of other animals in this environment. Nice natural colours and good sharpness.
Thanks for sharing.

Hello Robert !
I have heard otters are very hard to capture, so I have to congratulate you ! It is so nice to see a wild animal in its natural environment, just as beautiful as any close-up. I love the composition, and I can almost feel the cold just by looking at the picture. Very well done !

Hello Bob,
yes I could see the animal there on the bank. Simple shot of the creek that depict the beauty of the snow and the surroundings.
I cant imagine how cold the water is.

Hello Bob,
What a beautiful winter landscape. Fantastic natural colours. But the Otter is very special. Great scene in an excellent composition.

Hi Bob,

The reflections on the water of the pond are assets to the composition. The trees are framing well the pond. The point of view is showing the animal on the right bank, at first I thought it could be a vison, reading the othe critique, it has been identify to be a lontra. The snow is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Hi Bob.
Interesting question. However, magnification is enable. We can see charming animal on the bank of the pond as well as traces of its teethes on the tree. At whole pictured place is wonderful. Colours of the shot are clean and nice as well as clarity of the image. Kind regards and TFS.

Hello Bob,
What a beautiful winter landscape and the home enviornment for a little Otter! A beautiful composition in lovely colours!
Hope the winter isn't too severe over there this year!
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Hello Bob,

I admire the old forest surrounding the pond, left to live and die the natural way untouched by humans..!
Even your furry friend find this place attractive...
The winter mood is well recorded, probably not a hard winter as the pond is ice free and not so much snow..!
