LILIACEAE
Allium neapolitanum Cyr.
Bulb subglobose, 1-2 cm diam.; outer tunics membranous or crustaceous. Stem 20-50 cm, triquetrous. Leaves usually 2, broadly linear, 0.5-2 cm broad, attenuate-acuminate, keeled beneath, glabrous and often scabridulous at margin. Spathe 1-valved, ovate, acuminate, shorter than pedicels. Umbelfastigiate or hemispherical, 5-8 cm diam., many-flowered, nodding in bud. Pedicels 1.5-3.5 cm. Perianth patent; segments white, broadly elliptic-ovate,7-12 mm, obtuse. Filaments included, 1/2 x perianth segments. Capsule 5 mm, enclosed within perianth segments. 2n = 35.
Flowering: 3-5.
Habitat: Macchie, phrygana, rocky places, weedy banks, rivulets, ruins, often in shade,
Altitude: s.l.-1035 m.
