[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was at an Indian hill station named Nainital recently to attend a family wedding. I took some time out to look for wild life around the Naini lake after which this town is named. I spotted and shot a couple of birds and I am posting the picture of one I saw in a pair.
Thanks to my erudite friend Ivan, the ID of this bird has now been established. It is a Blue Whistling Thrush and, according to Ivan, it could be the very first picture of this species here on TN. Thanks, Ivan!
I have also posted a Workshop picture to show its plumage in full view.

The Blue Whistling-thrush (Myophonus caeruleus) is a species of thrush in the family Turdidae. At 178 grams (6.3 oz) and 33 cm (13 inches), it is believed to be the world's largest species of thrush. Feeds mainly on insects.

It is found in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkmenistan, and Vietnam. Its natural habitats are temperate forests and sub-tropical or tropical moist montane forests.

This is a new one for TN Ram!
Congratulations on this fine capture of a Blue Whistling Thrush (Myophonus caeruleus).
The blue spots on the wing and the shape of the yellow bill define the ID.
Excellent sharpness, colours and BG. Useful to have your camera when at a wedding!:)
Thanks and kind regards,

Hi Ram.
I like your picture so much, its fine subject and excellent quality. Tick tree branches create a wonderful frame for the cute bird and smooth BG is a great canvas for subject at whole. Exposure of the image and especially of the bird is great too. TFS and best wishes.

Bonjour Ram,
Très bonne valorisation du sujet dans une belle attitude.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.
