Well when i visited Ghana I went for a walk in the rainforest. I was with a guide and he showed me this snake. He said if I wanted to take a picture he would try and distract it for me. I didn't want to spend too long close to him because he told me it was a Gaboon viper and they have the longest fangs, they get up to 2 inches long. Well i chose the best photo I took. I hope you enjoy it. |

I know these snakes, and you must be mildly insane to get that close :) --- or maybe you're just very very brave --- I'll assume the latter.
It's a pity that your DOF is a bit narrow, but your focal point is really good. I must say he looks ready to strike. I'm glad you or your camera didn't get nabed. Well done
Hi Tom.. this snakes looks like he really has your eye on you! The horns ( not sure what they are called on snakes) are very sharp and you caught the expression very clearly. Nicely done! Thanks for sharing this daring shot.
