[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was staying at fishing lodge over the past few weeks and there was a pair of Eagles nesting nearby. It was daily drama as the Eagles harrased the loons and tried to steal their baby. This day I was out photographing the loons and the Eagles again tried to pick up the baby. The Loon parents are super sharp. They never ever missed the Eagle overhead and several times became airborn to intercept like a missle. Having given up on the loons the Eagle landed in the reeds and picked up what is probably a baby Turn or Blackbird. Actually it looks like it took the whole nest.

From Wikepedia

The Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) is a bird of prey found in North America. It is the national bird and symbol of the United States of America. This sea eagle has two known sub-species and forms a species pair with the White-tailed Eagle. Its range includes most of Canada and Alaska, all of the contiguous United States, and northern Mexico. It is found near large bodies of open water with an abundant food supply and old-growth trees for nesting.

In the late 20th century the Bald Eagle was on the brink of extirpation in the continental United States, while flourishing in much of Alaska and Canada. Populations recovered and stabilized, so the species was removed from the U.S. federal government's list of endangered species and transferred to the list of threatened species on July 12, 1995, and it was removed from the List of Endangered and Threatened Wildlife in the Lower 48 States on June 28, 2007.

Bald Eagles are not actually bald. The name derives from the older meaning of the word, "white headed".

Hi Denis,

Great view of that eagle! I've never been fortunate enough to be so close to one -- even with a big lens! Good use of the low ISO setting to enhance the quality of your image. Very natural colours and good details. Very majestic presentation. TFS.

Brilliant shot! Birds in flight are not easy to get and that is an excellent example!
Well done!

Hello Denis,
A superb capture of a Bald Eagle carrying nesting material. I like the composition with the half-raised wings and the POV is great, taken with fine sharpness and natural colours against the blue sky in fine lighting.
Thanks and have a good weekend,
