The Geranium bronze (Cacyreus marshalli) is by origin a South African butterfly that feeds on Pelargonium - the plants frequently known as 'geraniums' in their decorative form. It arrived in Europe in the 1990s as a stowaway on Pelargonium imports, liked it there and decided to stay. It is described as a 'pest' in South Africa.

Hello George,
A lovely capture of this dew-covered butterfly! It doesn't seem too happy with the drooping antennae - poor thing! Excellent sharpness and beautiful colours against the smooth background.
