The Monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus) is a milkweed butterfly (subfamily Danainae), in the family Nymphalidae. It is perhaps the best known of all North American butterflies. Since the 19th century, it has been found in New Zealand, and in Australia since 1871 where it is called the Wanderer.
The Monarch is famous for its southward migration and northward return in summer from Canada to Mexico and Baja California which spans the life of three to four generations of the butterfly.

Beautiful macro and excellent detail of the butterfly.
TFS. Carme.

Hello Sochirca,
nice macro shot of this colourful butterfly with good light and beautiful colours. Fine sharpness with many details and nicely blurred backround. Well chosen POV to capture the head of the butterfly.
Best wishes,

Hello Sochirca,
Nice POV and impressive cut work, sharpness is defective, I think it was inappropriate 1/80s.
Regards, TFS

Hello Dan,

Impressive closeness..!
Amazing details in the insect, and the colours are so nicely reproduced...
Accurate DoF gives a fine 3D effect..!
