Despite the stereotypes, Australia is not just a country of scorching deserts, sparkling beaches and the Sydney Opera House. It can just as easily give you an old English Oak shrouded in mist--in this case, in the original European settlement in Western Australia, the lovely little town of Guildford.

like you said - is this Australia? I feel the photo could be a touch lighter - but otherwise I like it.

Hi Sheldon, you are right, I am from the UK and I never would have guessed this was taken in Australia. I guess I am steeped in cliche ;). This is very evocative, the light is incredible and the fog adds great atmosphere. I like the contrast between light and dark. Only a small nit, the orange bits behind the tree, what are they? This is a very minor point though, I think your idea and execution of it are fantastic. Wonderful composition, TFS :)

Hi! this must be a strange occurence. A hidden light behind the tree during the mist. I also think it would have been nicer if dark areas were a bit lighter. Very weird picture.

I like this Sheldon and the idea behind it. Its a very mystical atmospheric shot. A little pp work may improve it further. 6/10 Well done.
