[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was in the garden with a torch this evening, looking for stick insects (another hobby of mine...), when I saw this very cute couple of dark-capped (blackeyed) bulbul (Pycnonotus tricolor), sleeping on the branch of a tree. Unfortunately by the time I came back with my camera one had woken up, but they were still sitting in the same position... I think the other was still sleeping all that time :)

They were too high above the ground to quickly set my tripod there, and I did not want to fire the flash and disturb them, so I tried to reduce the shutter speed to a reasonable value (but still too slow for good sharpness), and then set the ISO level at 1600, with the only light source being my dim head-torch.
Therefore it is not a great picture technically, but I wanted to share my unexpected night encounter. Hope you will like it!

Hello Odile,
I like this image because it is unusual. How often do we see birds having been photographed at night? For me, this is in the spirit of TN. And by the way, your flash would not have disturbed them at all, so maybe visit them again if they still sleep there. And you must be commended for your adventurous spirit to go out looking for photo's at night. Best wishes.

Bonjour Odile,
Une photo de nuit est toujours extrêmement difficile. Nous n'osons pas nous servir du flash pour ne pas déranger ces petites créatures comme tu le mentionnes dans ton commentaire.
Bien vu.
