[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The smooth newt is the most frequently seen newt. The other two are the great crested (Triturus cristatus) and the palmate newt (Triturus helvetica). Smooth newts are usually seen in small pools or clay puddles, but the surrounding land is equally important. Pools are used for breeding and are usually occupied between early spring and late summer. The surrounding land is used all year by immature newts and most newts spend winter on land.

Very nice and indeed smooth. It looks like flying in the air. Thanks, Ori

The pciture is very nice Demetrio - but just one comment - the newt is not the smooth newt (Triturus vulgaris) but an adult female of the great creasted newt (Triturus cristatus). In case of doubts look at www.herp.it
Best regards,
Michal

Unusual colourcombination, funny watercolour indeed!

Very nice compo and details in the newt. We don't have them here in SA. Hope to see a live one. Well done.
