|Golden Gate Highlands National Park is located in Free State, Republic of South Africa, near the Lesotho border. It covers an area of 340 km˛ (131.3 mi˛). The park's most notable features are its golden, ochre, and orange-hued deeply eroded sandstone cliffs and outcrops. Another feature of the area is the numerous caves and shelters displaying San rock paintings. Wildlife featured at the park includes mongooses, eland, zebras, and over 100 bird species. It is the Free State's only national park, and is more famous for the beauty of its landscape than for its wildlife.|

wonderful scenary. wonderful frame color makes the scenary more beautiful and colorful. tfs.
I am very familiar with that area and this is an unusual and very beautiful image indeed. Excellent POV and fabulous sky, apart from the wonderful hollow-weathering sandstones of the Clarens Formation that were deposited when the whole of Southern Africa was an arid sand desert. Very well presented too. Full marks!
Hello Peter,I like the colourful bands of strata of the cliff face, the sky is also very pleasant.
An interesting capture.
Best regards Les.
