Lestes viridis

The copulation of this sort, takes place for the most part from, august to October. Males have no territory impulse, this makes it possible to sit and wait on the passing females. The female flies in a permanent route to the water. The males know that, and wait on them. A male seizes a female at the neck, and drags itís. They land together on a halm and pair then 5 till 30 minutes.

After the pairing the male conducts his female to a branch. They inspect the branch. Is it not well, then they go to the next branch. Is the branch good, then she cuts these open with its ovipositor, and lies on both sides in the slash, two eggs. After each four eggs, she makes a new cut. The take off takes place firstly in a tandem. Later on the evening the female only turn off eggs. The damselfly laid her eggs in tree cortex, of both hanging and standing branches and tribes.

yes in this on I did go for composition. First of all a goo sharpness and second a good composition. I have to use on the tripod. I hope you like the shot.
gr. Jaap

Hello Jaap,

A beatiful capture of this "juffer", specially with the structure of the leaf as background.

Jaap you should try only sharping the lines. That is one of the PS options. Now the tail as a frost effect.

Diagonal composition is good Jaap, though personally I would have moved it towards the top corner just a little to get it's tail away from the edge more...

Hello Jaap, very good shot. Great POV and very good details. Good visual impact. TFS.

Nice shot Jaap!
The composition is really good here. I like the POV as well. Sharpness is good though there is some noise on the dfly.
Overall, very good photo.

Hi Jaap,
Very nice close-up. Sharp details, lively colours and effective DoF. A minor nit from my side; the space at the top left can be less.
Well done.

Hello Jaap,
that's your lucky shot, so sharp and with wonderful colours - and - with open wings.
Damselflies normaly don't rest with open wings, you catched a wonderful moment.
I often tried to make a sharp shot of this insects, but one time the back was too soft, the other time the eyes, your fly is sharp everywhere, that's magic for me.
Perfect, thanks a lot for showing, greetings

Hoi Jaap,

Great shot Jaap.
Very busy night again!!
No time to read notes, but enough time to enjoy your post.
Have a good week. TFS

Great macro Jaap,
Perhaps a little bit too much compression as there are quite a few artefacts noticeable. I would love to see the uncompressed version. Well done and TFS

Jaap, a clear and sharp picture.

Great pov and composition - I like it.

The little overexposure upon the green leaves doesn't bother me.

It's a nice shot.
