Thanks for al your comments on yesterdays post.
Like yesterday's post, these butterflies were attending an animal faeces from which they were extracting minerals. Gave me the oportunity to shoot a few species that don't usually stop....
The Great Nawab (Polyura eudamippus) is a species of very fast-flying canopy butterfly found in tropical Asia. It belongs to the Charaxinae (Rajahs and Nawabs) in the brush-footed butterfly family (Nymphalidae).
They have a winspan of up to 120mm and are found in mosit forests through montane north India northern Myanmar, north-west Thailand and high elevations in Laos and Vietnam. This was taken in Doi Phahom Pok National Park near Fang in northern Thailand.

Nice capture accompanied by a good note Chris!
Apart from the Nawab, it is interesting to see other insects that are attracted to faeces, including the other nymphalid that looks like Charaxes distanti.
Fine clarity, lighting and colours.
Thanks and kind regards,

Hi Chris, another magnificent gift to the butterflies fans of TN like me,2 spectacular species and a great capture whit excellent sharpness and colors,i like it!Have a nice week and thanks,Luciano

Great that you capture this exotic species. There are other butterflies and insects in this picture. The animal faeces must be juicy to them. TFS this impressive image.

Amazing and interesting scene Chris! Impressive photo with wonderful colours and very good sharpness. Interesting note too.
