Hello friends in TN,

Our long dry season is just over with rainfall since last week. The fresh rain promotes new growth especially mushroom. My neighbor spotted this species on his lawn when I arrived from work yesterday. The can grow up to 6cm in diameter in his front yard. I can't ID this mushroom and hope TN friends can help me with it. It was quite dark and flash was used in this shot.

Hello Jusni,
A very fine capture of what resembles the European parasol mushroom, Lepiota sp., in which case it may be edible!
Nice POV that shows its features with fine sharpness and natural colours.
Thanks and have a good week,

Hi Jusni.
What a charming fungi trio. They are simply amazing and you managed to reflect its beauties superbly. I like deep vivid colours of the scene, ultimate details, perfect use of flash light. My kind regards and best wishes.

Hello Jusni,
Very nice pov and well composed. Sharp focus with fine details are clearly seen. Very well done.

Hi Jusni,

I'm extremely surprised, because I wrote a comment to this image yesterday, but I don't see it now. I shared my opinion I like the photo very much, light management is more than great, even the fill-in flash left strange shadows, but we, or I mean I, also suffer this problem quite often. Beautiful image overall, bravo.

About the ID: by my opinion you captured Chlorophyllum neomastoideum (Hongo) Vellinga (= Macrolepiota neomastoidea (Hongo) Hongo), the 'dokukarakasatake' (in Japanese). Some of the European photographers in the queue wrote probably your capture's edible - because here in Europe all the big-sized Macrolepiota / Chlorophyllum species are edible, except for one species. But the situation's quite the opposite in the tropical region: most of the species are toxic, some are even deadly. Yours is included, containing the deadly poisonous cytotoxin Neomastoidin-A. The species you photographed is native to the tropical / subtropical rain / monsoon forests of Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Taiwan, Korea and Japan.

Congrats for the beautiful photo, friendly regards, László

Hello Jusni
