Trumpet Tail Dragonfly (male)
 |
|
[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
i took this photograph on the same day when i had taken the photograph of those Green Bee-eaters... yes, just one week back... on the day of Holi... a festival of colours.
i found this beauty in the Chintamani Kar Bird Sanctuary... it came from nowhere, sat in front of me and kept glowing under sun! torture! :)
this is a Trumpet Tail dragonfly (Acisoma panorpoides) which is also known as the Grizzled Pintail dragonfly. this particular one is a male. wanted to post a photograph of a female too along with this one, but, couldn't find one after searching for two days. so, waiting. till then, lets get to know this handsome :)
this butterfly is from the family 'Libellulidae' and can be found in many countries...in Africa [except dense rain forest], southern Europe, Middle East, southern Asia, and Indian Ocean Islands.
they say, it's a common dragonfly [though i don't get to see many now a days... as a child, i did, yes]. it is commonly found in aquatic areas. the females are brownish, reddish or yellowish in colour.

Hello Ruby,
A photo in beautiful light and colours. Excellent sharpness, details and DOF.
Regards,
Peter
A truly remarkable shot of this exotic dragonfly I have never seen with my own eyes, Ruby.
A very sharp and crisp capture with lovely colours.
The shapely leaf it is perched on adds beauty to the composition.

It is a beautiful photo ...that one Ruby.....Good day ...and welcome to Treknature ...the land of unlimited diversity a never ending collaboration between the extremes...a place where you can see how water and fire can mix. A place where everything is possible! ;)
Thank you for your presence here Ruby .... it is refreshing! Now ...lets go back to business ... the picture....it is good! In my opinion! Very simple ...very straightforward, a picture with pleasant bright light, optimistic yellow colors amazingly accurate depth and perfect detail, although I think that reducing the brightness slightly would bring the best of that detail back ...specially on the highlights. Well, Ruby now what makes a difference here, you've mention the source from where the notes has been copied and we already know that according to the Treknature terms of service ...quote " 2. You must be the photographer and copyright holder of all material posted to TrekNature." as our friend Neels Gunter reminded me earlier?!!! So..the question is broader: From where the hell we can extract the necessary information? Every single quote in the Web is subject to copyrighting isn't it? ...hm.....dear Ruby ...thank you one more time ;)
Regards,
George Veltchev
