Happy Nowruz to all.
happy what? Nowruz is the persian new year celebration that starts like spring in the other side of the world (actually, autumn is starting for us).
I have a recent email from a iranian friend that thinks that this celebration is a "good opportunity for people during the rebirth of nature, to think about and rebuild a safer and more peaceful world for generations to come". I agree with that. Spring for the rebirth and autumn for the quiet moment to think about peace.
I choose this picture of Spegazzini glacier because water unites us, we all need water to live. And because white and blue colours are symbols of peace.
Happy Nowruz to all.
Taken at Spegazzini glacier, Argentina.
The UN's General Assembly in 2010 recognized the International Day of Nowruz, describing it a spring festival of Persian origin which has been celebrated for over 3,000 years. During the meeting of The Inter-governmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Heritage of the United Nations, (2009) Nowrūz was officially registered on the UNESCO List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity |
