The Nile crocodile has a somewhat deserved reputation as a vicious man-eater. The proximity of much of its habitat to people means run-ins are frequent. And its virtually indiscriminate diet means a villager washing clothes by a riverbank might look just as tasty as a migrating wildebeest. Firm numbers are sketchy, but estimates are that up to 200 people may die each year in the jaws of a Nile croc.

Hi George,

Yes, beautiful colgate smile! The b&w evokes a prehistoric time, the reflection of the lower jaw well noted & all too enhancing of the ominous danger. Glad you left the kit lens at home for this particular shoot.

Hi George, my neighbour today.
Excellent photo of this crocodile. Nice composition. A lot of details.
Thanks for sharing,

LOLOLOL has Anna seen this yet??hehe lovely smile, i think the teeth should have a lil glisten to them tho LOLOL you are a hoot George

Hi George, yeah, they are vicious looking and the black & white adds to that sinister look. The reflection of the lower jaw is great. Overall the pic is crisp & clear.

wow! once again a combination of horror+beauty. the B/W tone makes it more furious and mysterious at the same time. good angle. good capture. a freezed moment. wish the eyes were open then.
have a nice weekend, George.
take care

Hello George,
Sometimes a B&W makes all the differance between a good image or a real eye catcher, this one is definitely the latter!! You can see ever crease and crevice in it's scaly looking hide. My goodness, even the reflection is super fine, as evident by the one broken off tooth which is easily visible. Awesome technique and good choice to go B&W!!
PS. I just watched a documentary last night showing how devastating they can be to a herd of migrating wildebeest.
