Hello friends, here in this photo
it is a muskrat, but i want to tell
you a history memory with Ranger
that was with a beaver.

October 4 2007, i am with Ranger
passing near a pond, in a woodland
that both of my pointing dogs Celtick
& Ranger they knew every tree or almost.

We where passing by that pond when
in the pond water we heard BIG SPLASHES,
it was a beaver alarming the other beavers.

Ranger he run to the border of the pond
to see what it is, i run also and saw
the beaver. I give the WHOA command
to Ranger to stay there and not move.
The beaver start to cry to us.

When i saw Ranger at that pose, i said
i love and want to take a photo, & click !

Again SPLASHES from the beaver and in the
same time Ranger he jump to the water
to go after the beaver. I went crazy
« NOOOOOO Ranger » and i call him,
to come back. Fortunately the beaver
had taken refuge under the water and
Ranger came back at my calls.

Here is the photo of Ranger at that moment,
he is in the WHOA (stay & don't move) command.

And the animal in this photo that
i am posting today it is a Muskrat.

1/200s f/11.0 ISO1000 50mm (35mm eq:75mm)

from New Hampshire Public Television website

« The muskrat is a very good swimmer and can
stay underwater for as long as 15 minutes.
It uses its tail and webbed feet to propel
itself through the water and can swim both
forwards and backwards! »

Merci

Asbed

Bonsoir Asbed,

Les roseaux cadrent bienb le rat musqué. La prise de vue permetde voir aqvec précision.es détails et les couleurs de la tête du rat musqué. La bonne luminosité fait ressortir les couleurs. Bonne soirée.
