Blue Dasher (female) : Type/Look-I
 |
|
[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
i had posted a Blue Dasher (Pachydiplax longipennis) male before, this is a female. seems, as they say, the females of this species have got two different looks! one is this one. and this is the common look. another, which is sometimes called 'the green-eye form' is also there.
i found this female, one green-eyed female and one immature male... all three perching near to each other. i was out on a walk when happened to see three of them.
it was around 7 pm... the dragonfly was under the spotlight of the about-to-set Sun.
PS: i have given some information about this species along with my older post on a Blue Dasher (male). can be checked if needed. |

Hi Ruby, the top of perfection for this nice dragonfly, magnificent details, colors, exposure and a very elegant position too!Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano
Ruby,
Interesting with black BG. Like your write-up. How did you obtain this black background?
Mike
beautifully done work Ruby. Although the background is looking rather dark, the subject seems properly exposed with good level of shadows and highlights detail. Very nice Ruby ...I like it!

Fine luck that the low-horizon sun was on this and you were there too! Fantastic shot.
