Took this shot while in Tulsa Oklahoma this summer. The Common Whitetail is considered a perching dragonfly and will rest horizontially on ground, logs, rocks and low on plant stems.

Males become very agressive towards other males at breeding areas by raising their abdomens in a threatening display.

They can be found in areas consisting of muddy bottom ponds, lakes, marshes, and streams.
