[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Please, see the Large Version of the image!

Giraffe habitat is limited primarily to savannas, sahel, and dry, open woodland, especially regions with an abundance of acacia, a small thorny tree, which is one of the giraffe's favorite foods. Giraffes also enjoy the leaves of mimosas and apricots.

Treeless grasslands with low vegetation are not ideal for giraffes because it's hard for them to reach down far enough to eat off the ground.

Historically, the giraffe existed throughout most of Africa. Today, however, it occurs naturally only in the sub-Saharan regions of the continent, ranging from southern Mali to Kenya, and south to northern South Africa (see map below).

Hello George,
I am very busy at work and I have not very much time to spent on TN. Still I find a little time to admire this fascinating photo with razor sharp details and very nice natural colors of this nice Giraffe habitat. The image is taken from a low and excellent POV with lovely light and best clarity. Nice stormy clouds in the background. Useful photographers note. Your Large Version is fantastic....
Marius.

Hi George,

Just saw (and commented) your forum thread about large-sized panoramas... and voilá, here it is! Beautifully composed image with top class sharpness and, at least on the normal-sized image, perfect white balance / color tones. A pleasant image to look at. But I found two, probably a little annoying issues:

1. The sky seems a bit washed out, on both images, at least around the giraffe's head + between the animal and the tree at right. I don't know what's the reason of this, though.
2. WB seems different on the normal and the large-sized image.

Of course, just personal opinion, which doesn't mean I don't like your photo. I absolutely do, and say big thanks for posting it.

Best regards, László
