[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Among the bird world’s most skillful fliers, Cooper’s Hawks are common woodland hawks that tear through cluttered tree canopies in high speed pursuit of other birds. You’re most likely to see one prowling above a forest edge or field using just a few stiff wingbeats followed by a glide. With their smaller lookalike, the Sharp-shinned Hawk, Cooper’s Hawks make for famously tricky identifications. Both species are sometimes unwanted guests at bird feeders, looking for an easy meal (but not one of sunflower seeds).

Merry Christmas Bill,
I was hoping that you would post this picture. It is such a great pictures. The details are so clear. Keep up the good work.

Hallo Bill
Now this is a real "WOW" photo! The details of the bird's eyes and that of its plumage is brilliantly captured and is so beautifully portrayed. I just love the patterns in its feathers and it is nicely seen and emphasised by the natural sunlight in the image. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.
This is to accompany my warmest seasonal greetings to you and your loved ones, no matter if you celebrate Christmas or not. It still remains a time of peace and goodwill.
*Merry Christmas.*

Excellent shot! I would, however, darken the light area behind the bird for better effect. I'm particularly pleased to see such a clean, sharp shot as it is now clear to me what the difference is between this and sharp-shinned hawk I photographed a few years ago, as you say in your note - at my bird feeder, but not looking for sunflower seeds!!

Hello Bill
Impressive bird and impressive photo with excellent composition, wonderful lighting and very good sharpness.
My best wishes,

pride and beauty in this great portrait of hawk
Merry Christmas Bill

Hello Bill, and "Merry Christmas" to you.
You have captured this particular Coopers Hawk in fine detail and gorgeous natural coloration. They are truly fantastic flyers and can be a most unwanted visitor to bird feeders. I lost many Roller Pigeons to these particular birds as a young boy. TFS.

Hi Bill,
Merry Christmas!
I like this shot very much. Amazing colours. Perfect composition. A lot of details.
Thanks for sharing,
