[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Tides are the rise and fall of sea levels caused by the combined effects of the gravitational forces exerted by the Moon and the Sun and the rotation of the Earth.

Some shorelines experience two almost equal high tides and two low tides each day, called a semi-diurnal tide. Some locations experience only one high and one low tide each day, called a diurnal tide. Some locations experience two uneven tides a day, or sometimes one high and one low each day; this is called a mixed tide. The times and amplitude of the tides at a locale are influenced by the alignment of the Sun and Moon, by the pattern of tides in the deep ocean, by the amphidromic systems of the oceans, and by the shape of the coastline and near-shore bathymetry.

Hello George,
Hopefully I will find someone around here that can show me how to do HDR images this year, this is incredibly beautiful. Love the very low POV you chose and stunning colors in this particular scene. Exceptional DOF and composed perfectly. Your info on tides is very interesting!!
I hope your are experiencing a mild winter so far. We have quite a bit of snow right now, but temperatures haven't been to bad.

Hello George

Great HDR effect with a super POV and DOF
giving a atmosphere effect, wonderful composition, TFS

Hello George,
First of all I wish you a prosperous and HAPPY NEW YEAR in 2013!!! I hope this year to be a better year than the last one and the economic crisis will end at last, especially here in Europe.....
Excellent details of an interesting subject. HDR highlights very well the nuances and details of rocks. Thanks for sharing!!!

Hi George,

Really nice with perfect balance. Wonder why only certain rocks harbor the bright green algae? The sky is foreboding!! The image makes one want to walk about in the low tidal basin. As already pointed out, the DOF is the capstone of this image.

Have a great Sunday,

Hello George,
Most beautiful landscape picture which I like especially for the low point of view you have chosen and the skilful composition and repartition of colors. Love the green moss on the stones, the fine grey and the blue sky-window in the back.Well seen, indeed!
Kind regards
