|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|I photographed this Common Loon in a remote lake where it readily approached the boat I was in. I was surprised it would not be more frightened as romote as it was.|
They make underwater fishing dives of up to 200 feet below the surface. They are adapted for diving with heavy bones and eyes that can focus both in air and water.
note: cropped and focused slightly

Nice close-up shot of the Common Loon with very fine POV,
DOF and framing, excellent focus, sharpness and details,
great details of the patterns of its plumage, TFS
Ciao Trevor, great macro of lovely duck, fine details, splendid sharpness, fantastic reflections and wonderful natural colors, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio
A very Canadian scene. We here Loons at our lake but don't see to many. You caught him in a very nice pose with good eye contact. The reflection and wake add a lot the photo. I like your composition and colour.
