The Scarlet Minivet is laso known here as Grey Chinned Minivet. Please correct me if I, wrong as this is my first time seeing this.
During this time the Fraser Hill is quite misty. With the birds flying and jumping around under the leaves and trees shooting them was so difficult.
Using tripod is so slow and clumsy, that I seldom use it. I have to use my hands to shoot most of the bird.
Hope you like this shot.

This minivet gives me just enough time to shoot twice, the other one is the amputated tails. So it is left with this one.
The Scarlet Minivet, Pericrocotus flammeus is a small passerine bird. This minivet is found in tropical southern Asia from the Indian subcontinent east to southern China, Indonesia, and the Philippines. They are common resident breeding birds in forests and other well-wooded habitats including gardens, especially in hilly country. While the male of most subspecies are scarlet to orange with black upper parts, the females are usually yellow with greyish olive upper parts. Several former subspecies have been elevated to species status in recent works. These include the Orange Minivet (flammeus in the narrow sense) while the Scarlet Minivet in the restricted sense is used for Pericrocotus speciosus. All subspecies have the same habits of gleaning for insects and are often seen in mixed-species foraging flocks, usually foraging in small groups, high up in the forest canopy.

Hi Foozi,
Neighbors today!
A very nice photo of the Scarlet Minivet.
You framed it well and the color is neutral and spot on.

Hello Foozi

Your photo of this beauty definitely a Scarlet Minivet, really depicts that misty atmosphere in the BG. The colours and especially the sheen on the body is really good. Only the flash has changed the colour of the eye from black to this opaque grey maybe due to red eye reduction. Maybe you can find some solution to that in camera settings perhaps. That aside this sure is a beauty.

這鳥太美了 就像一把要燒起來的火
光線足 照的很清楚 構圖也美麗

Beautiful bird, Foozi. You have got its eye clearly visible despite its very dark head. Fantastic composition,
Thanks and regards.

Hi Foozi,
Pleasing composition, awesome color contrast, perfect sharpness on the bird. Absolutely top notch work (although the background blur seems a bit strange, but everything else is just superb). Best regards and tfs, László
