Hello friends, with this post there is
2 photos the other one is in the WS.

The photo of the attack (on the WS)

In the first photo in the WS it is
just before the attack on the snow,
the second photo here it is after the attack
I took my time to focused trough the cattails,
I took few others photos taking my time to focus,
the 1st shot (on the WS) the focus is not bad
taking in consideration I was at a good distance
from the bird and I had a short lens and they
where some vegetation in front of the lens.

Both photos received around 25% of cropping,
and it is the same exifs for both photos.
1/4000s f/7.1 ISO1000 50mm (35mm eq:75mm).

The short lens is giving environmental photos.

from Canadian Museum of Nature website

Because of their excellent hearing,
Great Gray Owls are able to hear prey
such as small rodents moving beneath snow
a foot deep (30 cm). When they swoop down
they can break through a crust of snow strong
enough to support a large, adult human!

Hello Asbed,
I would have shown the WS as the main image but both are good in showing this hunting behaviour of the Great Gray Owl. Excellent sharpness, natural colour and composition of both the owl and the habitat.
Thanks and best regards,

Grazie della condivisione.

Hi Asbed. I have to say I love how well coloured the cattails are. It's a wonderful invasive shot with the layers of background holding to the rule of thirds well. I also wanted to say "Did you manually focus this"? Trevor

Impressive presentation Asbed! Two excellent action photos with perfect timing, very good composition, wonderful colours and very good sharpness!

Hello Asbed,
Both images show the Owl in it's natural environment during a hunt. I especially like the WS as it is extremely rare to actually capture a dive like this so close to the ground. Great stuff!!
