Hello Alan,
you have captured a beautiful bird, the pattern in the plumage is amazing.
Pity the picture is lack of sharpness, with you equipment is should be much sharper,
the problem s maybe the long shutter speed for the lens, for hand-held 300 you need at least 1/500sec to avoid camera shaking. Otherwise is a nice picture.

Hello Alan,
The focus is not perfect, but much better then some of the previous shots. The body especially looks sharp, just a tad soft aroung the head and beak. Looks like you had some pretty harsh lighting to deal with, but you managed quite well.
I just love the colors and markings of the Flickers. You have done a fine job of showing them off in this photo.
