Orchis mascula ssp. ichnusae
[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This subspecies of Ophrys mascula is endemic to Sardinia. Some consider it a separate species, O. ichnusae. Ichnusa is the Latinized form of the ancient name of Sardinia, Hyknusa (and the name of a popular local beer...).
This one was photographed on a rainy day. The entire plant is shown in the WS. |
