I didn't see a lot of Bay-breasted Warblers this year up at Magee Marsh, but I did manage to get a shot of this particular fellow as he dropped in late one evening.

I love the unique markings and vivid colors of the males during the spring breeding season. The females are similar in appearance and markings, but much duller in color.

I can see how much further we are in latitude. We get light until 9-10pm.

Very nice flash from the fellow who could teach this. You certainly have come a long way. Great work

Hello Ron,

Almost past this little tweety bird's bedtime I should think. Apparently they are not uncommon in Atlantic Canada .... but I've not captured one to date. Fine flash usage has brought out the richest in colors of this fellow and with animated expression and choice profiled pov. Very nice!

Hi Ron,
nice bird. Nice natural colours. Very good presentation. I like this composition.

Hi Ron.
What a cute coloration of the bird and expressive pose. I like timing a lot as well as excellent details of the bird and objects of the bird’ interest. Diagonal composition of the image is very nice and deep shadows give an attractive effect too. Kind regards and TFS.

Beautiful bird Ron! As usually a great photo with very good composition fantastic colors and impressive sharpness.

Hello Ron.
Good photo of this species. There was little light and have used the flash. How far were the bird? Wear a Fresnel lens for flash?

Hello Mr.Ron,
Beautiful picture of this Warbler.Nice light and POV.Good details on wings too.
Thanks for sharing,
Kind regards,

Cute male Warbler, Ron.
You've got the colors on it pretty well though there is a faint suggestion of OE on the white part of the breast feathers.
All the same, we don't see this bird frequently here on TN, so it's a prize capture alright.

Hello Ron

From the Bay-breasted Warbler, it is the warmer
red & orange parts of its plumage that I love
and it is doing great contrast with the rest
of the plumage, photo shot with fine POV,
love the way diagonally the bird it is framed on the image, TFS

Wow.. such a bird! Seems, you're blessed with Warblers this Summer, Ron :) Thank you for this post. Got to know about a new one. Warblers are always so challenging.. tricky, restless birds ;)
I love the dark green BG too. Did you use flash?

Hello Ron,
This is a beautiful bird, and you have captured it in a very natural pose. The colour tones, especially on the plumage, are very attractive.
Regards Siggi

Hello Ron,
Nice capture of this colorful fellow. Excellent sharp detail with emphasis on the plumage, colors and sparkle in the eye. Your POV was perfect my friend.
Best regards,

Hi Ron,
I understand why you love this beautiful bird so much - but unfortunately the strong flashlight resulted lost details, most of all on the white parts of the plumage. Quite a pity, because the compo itself is interesting.
Best regards, László

Hi Ron,

The leaves are helping to frame the bird. The point of view is showing the details and colours of the Bay-breasted Warbler. The good luminosity is enhancing the colours. Have a nice day.
