Turkish Name Benekli İparhan kelebeği.

Distribution in Turkey: Turkey is anywhere.

Distribution in the world: Northwest Africa, Southern and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Mongolia, China.

Living Area: Above sea level, up to heights of 2300 meters. Flowery grasslands; grassy openings in wooded areas.

Flight time: Two generations. Late June-late August in the east; mid-May to mid Sebtember elsewhere

Food Plants of the caterpillar: Caterpillars, especially ribwort plantain (Plantago lanceolata), but also mulleins(Verbascum spp.) and knapweeds (Centaurea spp.) type plants feed.

Description-Notes: The Spotted fritillary is a very variable butterfly. Other Male uppersides are fiery orange-red with black borders; submarginal spots on forewing are rounded or rectangular. Female is variable, but always duller above, with heavier spotting. Both sexes have cream hindwing with a very irregular orange basal band, and a more regular orange postmedian band. Black lines bordering orange postmedian band on outside are generally straight or only gently curvedinwards Note the row of rounded black marginal spots.

Wingspan: 38-50 mm long.

Fantastic photo. All the details on the butterfly are very nice. I agree with Luciano and find the colors a bit too warm, but everything else, your PoV, sharpness, background blur are gorgeous each. In my WS I also tried a different crop + I rid of the golden filter of the otherwise pleasant original pic.
