New spicies for my gallery...

The Provenšal Short-tailed Blue (Cupido alcetas) is a butterfly in the family Lycaenidae.

Alcetas is very similar to Short-tailed Blue (C. argiades), usually slightly smaller, but principally differentiated by the unh marginal lunule(s) (s1c and s2) adjacent to the tail: in argiades the lunules are orange-filled whereas in alcetas there is no trace of orange (maybe only a few orange scales).
There is virtually no difference in the undersides of the sexes of alcetas. The male alcetas tends to have thinner black borders to the blue on the upperside, as compared to argiades, and the argiades male uph sometimes has black marginal spots.

Helo Miroslav
nice capture with pure green blurry background. So pretty with details and features of a lovely butterfly.
Excellent light too

High Miroslav,
nice approach, well handled hard light conditions, suceesfully creating a nice portrait of this small blue. We both seem to have very similar sights these days, probably living in a common south east European zoobotanical region. In the Vienna region we recently may see the common Cupido argiades - but also the less common Cupido decoloratus that is looking much the same as C. alcetas, making nature photographers happy to identify their miniature captures.
With thanks, and best regards,
