the summer is about to go.. and once that gorgeous, happy Sunflower garden of the Broad Meadow Brook Wildlife Sanctuary, turned into the mature, photogenic bushes befriended by some American Goldfinch (Spinus tristis).

American Goldfinch, feeding on sunflower seeds.

do you see that female bird too? well, i saw her later :/

Hi Ruby.
Nice presentation of the species. It is clear me have not it in our region. You have shown all feature of the bird very well and I also like composition of the shot created by flowers on left bottom corner of the frame. My compliments and TFS.

Hello Ruby,
Beautiful work here. Excellent composition in very nice natural colours and fine sharpness. Beautiful blurred abckground too.

Namaste Ruby

Beautiful light, good exposure, superb perch and nice composition for this pair of finch, an attractive male and hidden female. Maybe missing a wee bit of focus on the males head, well as compared to rest of the picture..Still a beautiful composition overall.

Hello Ruby, nice to see a post from you once more!
I see you have captured this cute and colorful male American Goldfinch as well as a partially hidden female. Perched high on top of the Cone flower he looks like he doesn't have a care in the world at the moment.
It won't be too long before it will be a challenge to tell the males apart from the females. Their plumages will change quite a bit in the late fall, especially the males.
Hope your summer has been kind to you and you are having a good time over in Massachusetts.
