[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This photograph is taken at the site of the park which adjoins a shopping center in the city of Tokyo in the summer of last year. This dragonfly had stopped at the sprig of a plant with long length, changing the position. This is a dragonfly of a medium size that the body of an imago is about 5 cm in length and the length of a wing is about 4 cm. The wing is thinly transparent and large considering bodily. Whole body is with a light cinnamon color, the abdominal back side has a black vertical bar, and there are many thin horizontal stripes so that it may be crossed. It is widely distributed over global Torrid Zone and Temperate Zone, and many are seen in the whole country even in Japan. Feeding habits are carnivorousness and prey on small insects, such as a mosquito in the air. And, this dragonfly is weak to cold. Scientific name is called Pantala flavescens.

I was in Tokyo only once and that was in the airport, therefore I never had the chance to view your beautiful wildlife. I see you captured a fine looking dragonfly from your beautiful city.
