The Plains Cupid (Chilades pandava) is a species of Lycaenid butterfly found in countries such as India and Singapore. They are among the few butterflies that breed on plants of the cycad family.

Distribution

Peninsular India, south of the outer ranges of the Himalayas, but not in the desert tracts and somewhat local. Sri Lanka, Assam, Burma, extending into the Malayan Sub-region.

What a fine shot, well presented with this vertcal framing and decentred composition. Sharpness is perfect, colour-combination most beautiful. Cute little creature, this small Lycaenid.

Hello Ram,
The Plains Cupid is definitely a beautiful specimen, as is evident in this image. I like the little white bars on it's wings along with the tiny orange crescents. Excellent detail and just the right exposure. Super job!!
