No, it's not a joke, Pinguicula alpina is a small carnivorous plant growing in the Alps. It has what is called a semi-active way of trapping insects. It has a sticky substance on the leaves where insects get simply caught and "digested".

Très sympa cette p'tite plante. J'aime bien ses feuilles bien
grasses. Ca fait aussi un peu étoile de mer la forme. Bien vu!
