This photograph is taken in Kushiro in Hokkaido in summer of three years ago. Two Red-crowned cranes were barking toward sky, seeing one Japanese crane flying in the sky. It is 125 - 152 cm in full length. Wings gambling is 240 cm and the weight is 6.3 - 9 kg. The robe of feathers of the whole body is white. The robe of feathers applied to a throat from the eye point and a cervix is black. There are no feathers in the top of the head, and the red skin is naked. Robes of feathers of its baby, such as a head to a back neck, are cinnamon colors. It inhabites at the marshland, the lake, the river. Feeding habits are omnivorous, and eat an insect, the crustacea, shellfish, fishes, a frog, a vegetable stalk, a seed, etc. It produces two eggs one time from March to May in Japan. It incubates by sex shift and is 31 - 36 days during the incubation. It can fly now in about 100 days after a chicken hatches. In japan, it is specified as the domestic rare wildness animals-and-plants kind with the Conservation Act enforcement of a seed in 1993. It is distributed over Japan, southeastern Russia, the People's Republic of China, the northern Republic of Korea, and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
